Accessibility Statement

Clarity House Chicago is committed to a website every person can use.

Recovery is for everyone, and so is our website. Clarity House Chicago is committed to ensuring that ClarityHouseChicago.com is accessible to people with disabilities, including visitors who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technologies.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard widely referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

What we've done

  • Semantic HTML with proper landmarks, heading structure, and a "skip to main content" link on every page.
  • Full keyboard operability, with clearly visible focus indicators throughout the Site.
  • Text and interface colors chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast requirements.
  • Descriptive alternative text for images, and labels on every form field.
  • Support for the "reduce motion" preference set in your device settings, which disables animations automatically.
  • An accessibility options panel — the round button in the lower-left corner of every page — offering larger text, high contrast, underlined links, and paused animations. Your choices are saved on your device.
  • Pages that work at up to 200% browser zoom and on screens of all sizes.

Known limitations

Some third-party content or services linked from the Site may not fully meet the same standards. Where we find issues in our own pages, we prioritize fixing them promptly.
